Inspiration. who or what inspires you to take care of yourself? who inspires you to work out? When I thought of this blogging prompt I didn’t imagine that it would be challenging for me to answer. Who is my fitness inspiration? I grew up the youngest of five children. I always looked up to my older sister. When she was in high-school she was a star athlete. She played basketball and ran cross country.  She went to state for cross country and I am pretty sure she still holds the record for a long distance run in track and field at our old high-school.

Today, my sister still runs, eats healthy and takes very good care of herself. I still want to be like her.  Even though our relationship isn’t the greatest we do have a few things in common. We both value healthy eating and physical fitness. I run a little bit now, but only about a mile at a time. I don’t think I will ever be able to keep up with my sister, but I will always love and admire her.My kids also inspire me. viewing them learn my values makes me feel proud, thrilled and identified to keep teaching them.  Their little minds are like sponges, soaking up everything that they are exposed to. When I work out I often have a little one beside me copying my every move.  Observing my kids inspires me to keep going and take care of myself. It gives me a glimmer of hope that the world does have a positive future.

I am also inspired when I spend time with my husband.  He has conquer major health issues. He fought with obesity and won the battle losing over 100 lbs when he was in his early twenties.  Today he continues to keep his personal health a priority.  Our children are learning about healthy eating and physical fitness by his example.

This past week I did a 1/2 hour full body workout on Monday, worked my abs until they were sore on Tuesday, and shoveled heavy snow on Wednesday and Thursday. What did you do?What inspires you to work out every day? who has taught you the most about health and wellness? I love to hear from my readers. As always I reply and comment back on all comments I receive.Next weeks prompt: fitness and or nutrition tips, share your story and tips.If you are participating in fitness Friday please get our button, link up and visit the other blogs co-hosting this blog hop every week.Chandra Sullivan – Spark Your MotivationTere Scott – Teachable Scott Tots HomeschoolDanielle Nabozny – Lip Gloss and yoga PantsLisa Belanger – Inspire Me WellMaryann Mitchell – It’s Not Food, It’s MeAngela Barnets – Fit PersonifiedWendi Barker – Wendi’s book CornerLacey Baker – Love Lacey 365
